Some losses need a place to be heard
Â
Perhaps you are missing someone whose presence once shaped your days. Perhaps a relationship, a familiar home, or a season of life has ended.
You may be carrying an old sorrow that still asks for tenderness—or feel called to honor your ancestors and the people whose love helped you become who you are.
In the movement of everyday life, there is often little room to pause and mourn.
We are opening a space where you can arrive as you are, with whatever your heart is carrying.
Held in the devotion of the Two Sisters
Â
In the Egyptian sacred story, Aset and Nebetet mourn Asar (Osiris), calling to him with love, longing, and steadfast devotion.
Their lamentations give voice to the ache of absence and the enduring bond between the living and the departed. Within their sorrow lives a deep commitment to care for the one they love.
Our contemporary ceremony draws inspiration from these ancient texts and the sisters’ devotion. Together, we will approach lament as an offering of love: a way to remember, express what has remained unspoken, and allow sorrow to be witnessed.
There is room here for tears, silence, gratitude, and the memories that make us smile. There is also room for renewal to unfold in its own time.
Â
Our October 25 gatheringÂ
We will gather around the Lamentations of Aset and Nebetet, supported by sacred sound and a shared intention of remembrance.
This is an invitation to:
- Honor beloved departed, ancestors, and those whose lives have touched yours.
- Give voice—or quiet attention—to grief and longing.
- Explore the sisters’ devotion as a companion through loss.
- Make room for both sorrow and gratitude.
- Rest in a circle where your experience does not need to be explained or hurried.
You are welcome to participate in the ways that feel right for you. You may join your voice, listen quietly, or pause whenever you need.
No previous experience with Egyptian spirituality or ceremonial practice is necessary.
