Aries Full Moon 2026: The Harvest Moon and the Courage to Belong to Yourself

What has changed in you since spring?

Perhaps the change is easy to name. Perhaps you notice it only in small moments: a boundary you can now hold, a conversation that feels different, or a longing you no longer wish to dismiss.

The Harvest Moon became full at 3°37′ Aries, opposite the Sun in Libra. It is called the Harvest Moon because it is the Full Moon nearest the September equinox in the Northern Hemisphere. Its light arrives at a turning of the seasons and invites us to notice what has ripened in our own lives.

Aries asks, Who am I becoming? Libra asks, How do I bring that truth into relationship?

Together, they offer a tender kind of courage. We can belong to ourselves while remaining open to love.

Aries and Libra: Honesty Within Connection

Aries speaks to instinct, independence, and the willingness to take a first step. Libra brings our attention to partnership, conversation, and the ways we make room for one another.

Under this Full Moon, you may notice where you have grown more confident in your own needs. You may also see where an old habit of keeping the peace asks you to become smaller than you are.

This does not mean every difference requires a parting. Some relationships deepen when we speak more honestly and listen with equal care. The invitation is to notice what is true before deciding what to do with it.

When Intuition Needs Quiet

The Aries Moon sits close to Neptune, lending this lunation a dreamlike, intuitive quality. A feeling, image, or insight may reach you before you have words to explain it.

Give yourself space to receive it. Give yourself time to discern it, too.

A strong feeling can tell us where to pay attention without telling us the whole story. If something feels unclear, pause. Walk outside, rest, write, or speak with someone you trust before making a consequential choice.

Mars, the ruler of Aries, is completing its time in Cancer. Old feelings connected to safety, home, or being heard may rise alongside the desire to move forward. Chiron has also returned to Aries, renewing questions about courage and the ways we have learned to protect ourselves.

You do not have to measure your growth by whether an old feeling returns. You may see it now with more understanding, more choice, and more compassion than you once had.

A Secluded Path and a Campfire

The Sabian images at this Full Moon offer a beautiful way to contemplate the Aries–Libra axis. At 3°37′ Aries, the Moon falls in the fourth Sabian degree of Aries: two lovers walking along a secluded path. Across the sky, the Sun falls in the fourth Sabian degree of Libra: a group gathered around a campfire.

We can receive these as images for reflection rather than predictions.

The quiet path gives us room to hear our own footsteps. The campfire offers the warmth of connection and community. We need both: moments of privacy in which our truth can emerge, and relationships where that truth has space to live.

September’s theme in our Year of the Fire Horse practice is refinement and discipline. Beneath this Harvest Moon, that need not mean pushing harder. It might mean choosing one boundary that protects your energy, one honest conversation, or one practice you can sustain.

Consider what you have tended since spring. Some things may be ready to celebrate. Others may need to be released, rested, or given a different shape.

The harvest is a moment to see clearly what has grown.

Then ask:

What has ripened in me since spring?

Where have I been asking for permission to be myself?

What would it feel like to bring my truth into relationship with both courage and compassion?

Let your answers come without rushing to make a plan. When you are ready, choose one small action that honors what you heard. It may be a request, a boundary, a conversation, or a commitment to give yourself more time.

From This Harvest Moon to Egypt

This September, the Moon is full in Aries beneath a Libra Sun. Next spring in Egypt, the axis turns: the Moon will be full in Libra beneath an Aries Sun.

From March 19–April 2, 2027, our Ancient Egypt Spiritual Pilgrimage will carry us through that seasonal threshold. Near the Spring Equinox, we will gather for a private sunrise ceremony at Hor-em-Akhet on the Giza Plateau. As the Libra Full Moon approaches, we will enter the King’s Chamber of the Great Pyramid for an evening ceremony of sacred sound and presence.

Our journey continues through the temples of Kemet, including a private ceremony at the Temple of Aset at Philae, eight days sailing the Nile aboard the Swan Dahabiya, and Easter Sunday on the West Bank of Luxor.
