When the Old Plan Dissolves

Pisces Lunar Eclipse 2026: Listening Beneath the Surface

The eclipse has passed from the sky, but what it revealed may continue unfolding through the body, dreams, intuition and the quiet devotions of everyday life.

Two weeks before the Pisces Lunar Eclipse, the Sun disappeared in Leo, asking us to step forward with courage.

Then the Moon entered Earth’s shadow in Pisces—and the invitation changed.

This was not a moment to push harder or force the next chapter into form. It was a moment to soften our grip long enough to hear what had been quietly changing beneath the surface.

The visible eclipse has passed, but its deeper movement may still be with us.

If a familiar routine no longer supports who you are becoming…

if something you have worked hard to maintain is asking to be released or redesigned…

if your body is asking for a different pace than your plans permit…

or if an intuitive knowing has arrived before the evidence to explain it…

you may still be standing within the threshold this eclipse opened.

A Moon Almost Entirely Within the Shadow

The Full Moon occurred at 4°54′ Pisces on August 27–28, 2026.

At the eclipse’s peak, approximately 96.2 percent of the Moon’s visible surface was covered by Earth’s darkest shadow. Although technically a partial rather than total lunar eclipse, it was deep enough for much of the Moon to take on the copper-red glow associated with a Blood Moon.

The eclipse was visible across North and South America and parts of Europe and Africa, with portions also visible from western Asia, the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, and Antarctica—a shared celestial threshold stretching across much of the night side of Earth.

This August Full Moon is commonly called the Sturgeon Moon, named for the ancient lake sturgeon traditionally caught in abundance around the Great Lakes at this time of year.

We hold this name lightly, yet its water symbolism feels beautifully at home beneath a Pisces Moon: something ancient moving through deep waters, guided by currents we cannot always see.

When the Old Way No Longer Fits

Pisces is associated with intuition, dreams, compassion, surrender and our relationship with the unseen.

Across the sky, the Sun and Mercury in Virgo sought order, reason, useful plans and a clear next step.

Both sides were challenged by Uranus in Gemini, forming a strong mutable T-square—an astrological pattern associated with sudden information, changing circumstances, disrupted routines and solutions that arrive from outside the plan we thought we were following.

The mind may want to understand everything before it lets go.

This eclipse suggested that understanding may come later.

The first step is not certainty.

It is honest listening.

This does not mean abandoning discernment or drifting into avoidance. Pisces offers surrender; Virgo offers grounded care. Together, they ask us to release what has expired while tending the body, the practical details and the next small step that is truly ours.

The eclipse opened another phase of a longer Virgo–Pisces story, one that continues through the Virgo lunar eclipse of February 2027. We do not need to solve the entire passage now.

We need only notice what is complete, what has become too costly to carry and where life may be quietly steering us next.

From the Heart of the Lion to the Mouth of the Fish

On August 23, the Sun met Regulus, the Heart of the Lion.

At the eclipse, the Moon aligned closely with Fomalhaut, the Mouth of the Southern Fish.

In traditional astrology, Fomalhaut is one of the four Royal Stars. It is known as the Watcher of the South and is associated in esoteric tradition with Archangel Gabriel—the messenger who carries revelation across the threshold.

Together, these stars created a beautiful bridge through the second half of August:

Regulus asked us to live from the courageous heart. Fomalhaut asked us to become quiet enough to receive what the heart already knows.

The message may have arrived as a dream, a sensation, a sudden recognition, an unexpected conversation or the simple realization that you can no longer continue in the same way.

Not every insight needs immediate action.

Some truths need to be held in stillness before they reveal their form.

Virgo Season and the Priestess Path of Devotion

The eclipse arrived during Virgo season, when the Sun illuminates the art of sacred tending.

Virgo reminds us that the priestess is not defined only by what happens at the altar. She is revealed through devotion: in the care she gives to her body, the attention she brings to her work, the herbs she gathers, the water she blesses and the quiet rituals she returns to each day.

This is the High Priestess within—not as a traditional astrological correspondence with Virgo, but as a living archetype of inner listening, discernment and devotion.

She does not rush to fill silence with an answer.

She tends the threshold until the deeper wisdom is ready to speak.

The Pisces–Virgo axis asks us to unite mystical receptivity with embodied practice. Pisces opens the channel; Virgo tends the vessel. Pisces listens for the divine; Virgo gives that guidance a place to live.

This priestess thread is beautifully echoed in the Sabian Symbols for the eclipse.

The Sabian Symbol for the eclipse degree—5° Pisces—is “A Church Bazaar.” As a contemplative image, it invites us to recognize the spiritual within ordinary exchanges and daily activity.

Across the sky, the symbol for 5° Virgo is “A man becoming aware of nature spirits and normally unseen spiritual agencies.”

Together, these images remind us that revelation does not belong only to ceremonies, visions or extraordinary moments.

The unseen may speak while we make tea, tend the garden, answer a message, care for another or pause between one task and the next.

The sacred is not asking us to escape our lives.

It is asking to be welcomed into them.

Water Medicine for the Fire Horse

In our Year of the Fire Horse Visioning Guide, August carries the theme of peak fire and soul expression.

Yet full expression does not always mean doing more, moving faster or becoming louder.

Sometimes the soul expresses itself by releasing what can no longer carry its truth.

This Pisces eclipse brought the water medicine needed to temper the Fire Horse: rest, receptivity, emotional honesty and the willingness to be redirected.

When the nervous system is overstimulated, intuition can sound like urgency.

Stillness helps us recognize the difference.

And while Uranus unsettled the familiar, a supportive trine between Jupiter in Leo and Saturn in Aries was building toward exactness just after the eclipse. Beneath the change, structure was available. What is genuinely aligned can be strengthened, supported and given a more enduring form.

Five Ways to Continue Working With the Eclipse

Let the body set the pace

If you feel overstimulated, tired, scattered or emotionally full, create more space rather than demanding more output.

Rest is not a delay in the process. It may be where the clearest guidance arrives.

Release the need for the entire plan

Ask what is true today.

Take the next honest step and allow tomorrow’s information to meet you tomorrow.

Make the ordinary devotional

Bless your water. Prepare food with gratitude. Bring your full presence to one conversation.

Let daily life become the place where spirit meets matter.

Follow the quiet experiment

Uranus in Gemini favors curiosity and new approaches. You do not have to make every change permanent.

Try what feels alive, observe what happens and allow the path to keep evolving.

Listen without immediately acting

Write down dreams, insights, sensations and synchronicities.

Let them gather into a pattern before deciding what they mean.

Preserve the Wisdom. Release the Weight.

When an old plan dissolves, we may be tempted to dismiss everything it carried—to decide that the time, devotion or effort we gave it was wasted.

But completion is not the same as failure.

Something can carry us faithfully for a season and still become too heavy to carry forward in the same form.

The invitation is to preserve the wisdom while allowing the weight to dissolve.

You may wish to sit with these questions:

  • What am I no longer willing to carry in the same way?

  • What truth arrived before I could explain it?

  • What wisdom from the old plan belongs with me?

  • What has completed its purpose?

  • What small act of devotion will give this wisdom a place to live?

You do not need to arrive at a perfect answer.

Allow a word, image, sensation or silence to be enough.

A Simple Water Blessing

Pour a glass of fresh drinking water and hold it gently between your hands.

Bring the glass close to your heart and take three slow breaths.

Choose one quality you wish to nourish within yourself—perhaps trust, clarity, compassion, courage, peace, surrender or renewal.

Speak your intention over the water:

Dua Hapi.

Beloved water, carrier of life,
I bless you with the intention of [name your chosen quality].

May this quality be nourished within me.
May the wisdom remain.
May the weight dissolve.

We close with the lineage-rooted hekau shared with us by our teacher, Neter Aunkh:

Nuk pu Hapi.
I am Hapi.

The living current moves through me.

Drink the water slowly and mindfully.

With each sip, imagine receiving the quality you have chosen—not only as an idea, but as something your body can remember and embody.

Pause when the glass is empty.

Feel the living water within you.

You do not need to see the entire path.

The next honest step is enough.

The eclipse does not ask us to know exactly where the current is taking us.

It asks us to recognize when the old shore is no longer ours.

May this Pisces Moon soften what has become rigid, wash clean what is complete and return you to the wisdom moving quietly beneath the noise.

With moonlight and love,

Heather & Donny Regal
